リブレ出版株式会社 (Libre Publishing, Inc.), (later re-branded as 株式会社リブレ, Libre Co., Ltd., in 2016) was founded in May 2006, a joint investment by Animate, Frontier Works, and Movic.1
The company was officially registered by Animate in late December 2000, but had remained dormant prior to being branded as Libre Publishing, Inc.2
Libre announced they had acquired and would resume publication of the Magazine BE×BOY, Novel b-BOY, and BE×BOY GOLD anthologies.
Libre was formed to be a replacement for Biblos, in order to ensure the survival of their boys’ love publications. However, due to the sheer number of anthologies and series published by Biblos, priority was given to ongoing series and major anthologies, and subsequently to series deemed profitable enough to acquire and republish.
Several series were later acquired and released by other publishers.

released June 7, 2006.
Libre relaunched Magazine BE×BOY, Novel b-BOY, and BE×BOY GOLD in June of 2006, and the b-BOY Special Anthology series in July.
In reviving the former publications of its predecessor, Libre released a special anthology series to succeed b-BOY LUV, titled b-BOY Phoenix, aptly named for the circumstances of its creation, in July 2006. b-BOY Phoenix ran for 20 issues, followed by b-BOY HONEY through 2012.
Magazine ZERO was revived in 2008 as special editions of BE×BOY GOLD renamed 「クロフネzero」 (Kurofune Zero). Kurofune Zero changed to a stand-alone digital-only publication after the October 2012 special issue.
Also revived in 2008 was Junk! BOY, special editions of Magazine BE×BOY, which concluded with the Winter 2016 issue.
Libre expanded its catalogue of publications and anthologies with several short-lived magazines.
Citron was an anthology of one-shots, published from 2010 – 2015.
「b-BOYキューブ」 (b-BOY Cube) was Libre’s first digital-only publication published from 2009 until 2018. This was replaced by Libre’s eBE×BOY Comics line, followed by the present-day b-BOY P!.
「b-BOYオメガバース」 (b-BOY Omegaverse) was another digital-only magazine that ran from 2016 – 2022.
「秒で分かるBL」 (Byou de Wakaru BL), a themed series of anthologies, has been published since 2020.
