Company History
Sanwa Publishing Co., Ltd. was founded in 1976. They primarily published hentai and pornographic media for a male audience. They branched into the boys’ love market in autumn 1992 with the manga anthology aisA. aisA launched as special issues of Sanwa’s 「漫画ピンクタイムスペシャル」 (Manga Pink Time Special).
aisA was released bimonthly from November 1992 until June 1994, releasing a total of 10 issues before abruptly ceasing publication. There was little information as to why the magazine ended so abruptly. Subsequently, several manga series were picked up and continued by other publishers.
「小説 aisA」 (Novel aisA) was launched in December 1993 as a sister magazine to aisA, primarily publishing light novels. Only two issues of Novel aisA were released.
