(1988 – 2006)

Founded as Seiji Biblos (青磁ビブロス) in 1988, later rebranded as Biblos Co., Ltd. (株式会社ビブロス) in 1997. Declared bankruptcy in March 2006.

Libre Publishing Libre
(2006 – Present)

Libre Publishing, Inc. (リブレ出版株式会社), later rebranded as Libre Co., Ltd. (株式会社リブレ), was founded in May 2006 as a successor to the late Biblos Co., Ltd. Successfully relaunched four of Biblos’ former publications.

Sun Publishing → Magazine Magazine
(1978 – Present)

Sun Publishing (株式会社サン出版) entered the market for shonen-ai works in 1978. The company expanded several times until finally rebranding as Magazine Magazine Co., Ltd. (株式会社マガジン・マガジン) in 2013.

France Shoin
(2010 – Present)

France Shoin (株式会社フランス書院) entered the boys’ love manga market in 2010 with their Canna anthology, published under their women’s comics imprint Printemps Shuppan.

Sanwa Publishing
(1976 – Present)

Sanwa Publishing Co., Ltd. (三和出版株式会社) entered the boys’ love market in autumn 1992 with the short-lived manga anthology aisA, followed by the shorter-lived Novel aisA.
