Second Anniversary!!

I never thought we would reach this milestone, and yet here we are! Thank you all so much for your continued support.

A lot of work was put into the project this year; hundreds of hours spent building new pages, digitizing 30-year-old magazines, and figuring out how to best grow this site, and it could not have happened without your support!

I’d love to share with you some site stats for the past two years!

So… what’s planned for year 3…?

For starters, the Yaoi Archive has gone from a one-man army to a two-person army!! Our new collaborator shares our passion for out-of-print BL works, and our goal is to begin working on creating the pages for June magazine issues (sending us all the way back to the late-70’s)! It’s a slow process for the two of us, due to life and other obligations, but we hope to bring you more content as quickly as we can!

During our third year, we’ll continue our current work of digitizing out-of-print publications and providing detailed information about various publishers, magazines, and series, the plan is to make our digitized publications much more available for public viewing.

Unfortunately, due to the age of some of the magazines and publications, the scans are very rough-looking, so we are working to clean these scans to provide a better viewing experience for you. It’s an extremely time-consuming task, so any assistance would be appreciated!!

A few people have sent us requests about Tokuma Shoten’s Chara and Chara Selection magazines—you have been heard, I promise! We hope to provide those pages to you this year as well, but we could use some help! As mentioned before, there are only two of us working on this project at the moment, so the priority for each of us is to work on what we already own. It is expensive to procure all of the publications we’re working to archive, so if ANYONE owns any issue of Chara, Chara Selection, or another magazine published by Tokuma Shoten, please reach out to us and let us know so that we can bring that information to everyone who checks us out! You would have our undying gratitude!
